Gettysburg "Vacant Chair" Tour-NEW

Arrive at the Gateway Gettysburg Complex "Fields of Freedom" film, then go to the Gettysburg Visitors Center to browse the museum, a film, & the cyclorama.  Then you will go to the Historic Farnsworth House.  Built in 1810, it is said to be haunted by no fewer than 14 ghosts-making it the 7th most haunted Inn in America!  We enter a room prepared for an 1863 wake, complete with casket & decor that protray the mourning customs of the time period.  During the "Funeral Lunch", we'll hear civil war era songs including "The Vacant Chair" written to honor a fallen soldier-creating a vacant chair at the table.  Along with history & rituals.  Following dinner, we descent the stairs into the cellar of the Farnsworth House for dramatic portrayed ghost stories.  Depart Farnsworth @ 530 pm.  Fast food stop enroute home.

 

Please note: You must be able to do stairs to fully enjoy this tour.  The Farnsworth House does no have an elevator.

 

All tickets and boarding passes will be distributed by the driver on the day of your trip.
